They say you can measure a person’s greatness in part by the enemies
he attracts. If the same can be said of blogs, Davids Medienkritik is
in good company. It seems that our site has been identified as part of
the “vast right-wing conspiracy” by a particularly deranged and
troubled individual: Jürgen Cain Külbel – a German lover of
Hezbollah, Syria, and any anti-American or anti-Israeli conspiracy
theory he can get his hands on.
Kuelbel openly counts members of Hezbollah, many of whom he knows personally, to his circle of friends.
Let’s
start with the basics: Kuelbel, a German karate-enthusiast residing in
Berlin and former “investigator” for the East German DDR regime, has
stated publicly that he counts members of Hezbollah, many of whom he knows personally, to his circle of friends.
He writes for the Syria’s “Al Watan” daily and has produced a book,
entitled “Mordakte Hariri” claiming that the United States and Israel –
not Syria – were actually behind the assassination of Rafik Hariri. The
picture below makes plain who his sponsors were and are (note the
portraits in the background):

But Kuelbel doesn’t only write for the Syrians. He has written several anti-American tracts for the Austrian “KomInform” Communist site and the far-left “FREACE” website. He has also written for the “Voltaire Network“,
a French site dedicated to propagating every anti-American, anti-Israel
conspiracy theory on the planet – including various theories explaining
how the U.S. government was purportedly behind September 11. In an interview with the “Muslim Markt” website, Kuelbel claimed to know that Osama bin Laden (who he calls
“USAma bin Laden”) was actually dead when 9/11 took place and that his
“corpse” has been used all along as a prop by the American government
to hide the CIA’s alleged role in the attack. He even plans to
write a book dedicated to the topic entitled “Osama bin Laden – World
Theater with a Corpse.” On his website, Mr. Kuelbel also refers to the
United States as “Mordamerica” or “Murder America.”
Kuelbel’s Cheap Attempts at Character Assassination
Apparently, before our personal run-in with Mr. Kuelbel, several
other bloggers bumped heads with Berlin’s Hezbollah-friend. Blog posts revealing Kuelbel’s true character and motives
sprung up like so many mushrooms over the past year (more here), prompting him to
view bloggers as part of a vast Neoconservative conspiracy to silence
him. He responded by meticulously combing the comments sections and
blogrolls of every blogger he perceived as an enemy, ripping whatever
he could out of context and twisting it into an instrument of
defamation and character assassination. Stefan Herre, author of
Politically Incorrect, was just one target of Kuelbel’s smear tactics.
In a recent email exchange, Kuelbel asked Erik Svane of No Pasaran “who
he really was”, implying that perhaps he was a spy for some clandestine organization, a
remarkable conclusion considering that Erik regularly splashes his
pictures and videos across the Internet!
Mr. Kuelbel engages in open character assassination on his site
and apparently enjoys filing petty “insult” lawsuits as a sort of hobby
against those who stand up to him – including the author of the blog Liza’s Welt.
Needless
to say, when Davids Medienkritik opposed granting Kuelbel permission to
use material from our sites to construct his defamatory postings, we came
in for the same treatment. Kuelbel’s tactic was simple:
Meticulously comb the subject’s website to find comments, links or
anything with questionable content and establish guilt by association
to embarrass the target. In our case, the Hezbollah-kid found
a two-year old link on our dormant German site “Medienkritik Online” to
“Campo Blog” that we have since removed. We linked it in 2005 after a
reader suggested it as a good site and removed it from our main site
within days after receiving complaints and looking through the site
ourselves. We forgot to remove it from our old German site, which has not been in
service for years. In his furious effort to attack us, and because he
could not find anything on our site, Mr. Kuelbel is now desperately
exploiting a short-lived link on our blogroll to smear us. He claims
the authors are proponents of pedophilia – and he clearly hopes, in
some deranged way, to link that to Davids Medienkritik in a twisted effort to discredit or embarrass our site. To even acknowledge
that charge is beneath our dignity. We simply wanted to point out this
obvious lie to clear the record.
The fact that Mr. Kuelbel has chosen this despicable means of
character assassination is a testament to his true character. He is obviously a very sick, paranoid individual drowning in a sea of convoluted conspiracy theories. And this
much is clear: We are by no means the first and not likely the last to
encounter Kuelbel’s ugly attacks. In that sense, let this
posting serve as warning to any and all who would cross paths with
Jürgen Cain Külbel: He is someone who has repeatedly lied, distorted
and twisted facts to support his worldview and slander his enemies.
Let us conclude with this: We hadn’t planned to write anything about
Mr. Kuelbel since his site has no traffic – getting into a pissing
contest with this skunk was frankly something we saw as not worth our
time and effort. But when he persisted in publishing his disgusting
allegations of guilt by association, we saw no choice but to stand up
to the little Hezbollah-hack. In our case, we found no need to twist or distort the facts. Simply
telling the truth about Juergen Cain Kuelbel is more than enough to
utterly discredit him and the ugly propaganda and defamation he spews.
