The Echo Chamber of Anti-Americanism Documented by German YouTuber
Feli from Germany – a thoughtfully done YouTube channel on life in the United States and Germany – recently ran an interview segment with Germans in Munich. Respondents were asked what they think about the current situation in the United States. What it revealed was the ultimate triumph of the German media information bubble that this blog has been documenting for years. The answers oozed with ignorance, arrogance, and fear. The responses are clear evidence of the existence of a powerful anti-American echo chamber reverberating throughout German society which continues to substitute ideology for reality.
Below is the complete video – a highly recommended watch. Beneath that – I have highlighted segments of particular interest – including one in which a woman suggests someone be paid to overthrow Trump.
Interviewees and opinions expressed:
Super Karen 1:
- Americans don’t have access to neutral, objective media the way that we Germans do. The US media is biased towards Trump.
- My friends and I are boycotting American products.

- Someone should get paid to put Trump down. Americans are crazy and stupid and it’s their own fault. Trump is having people killed with ICE.;

- Everything is unstable. ICE is killing innocent bystanders. ; Tourists are being turned away at a rate of 20%.
Feli the YouTuber:
- Mentions the one and only encounter in her entire outing with people who support Trump. (Everyone else had been successfully brainwashed by the German media.)
Interestingly enough – more than one respondent stated that Germany should begin to stand on it’s own two feet and do more to defend itself. This is interesting because a large segment of German society has been reading Spiegel, Stern and other German media propaganda and crapping on the United States for decades now – all while accepting the defensive umbrella that the United States provides at enormous expense to American taxpayers. This while simultaneously doing billions in trade with America’s worst enemies. But how many Germans are willing to pay more taxes and make cuts to pensions (you listening Super Karen 2?) and other social spending to actually foot the bill and take real responsibility for their own defense?
As for America and its “alliance” with Germany: It would be difficult and deeply immoral for any rational, thinking person to look an American soldier and his or her family in the eyes and tell them they should go to war and risk their lives to defend these people and their warped beliefs.
