This 2004 multi-country survey nicely captures the differences in attitudes
between USA and Germany (and other European countries). German politics in the
last decades were increasingly aimed at collectivist solutions to economic
problems. The current campain of Germany’s social democrats against
“anglo-saxon-style” capitalism underlines this trend.
